The Syrian Orthodox Church celebrates the Feast of Theophany at the Jordan River, the place of Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist. The ceremonies are taking place on both the Israeli and the Jordanian sides of the river. Mor Severios Malke Mourad (Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem & Jordan) lead the celebration.
