The real players behind the media drama enacted with Mor Clemis Kuriakose in the lead have been exposed in the inquiry and discussions held by the Holy Synod involving various people involved in this issue.

 

This whole episode was masterminded by the former Managing committee member of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Association Manoj Kokkaat & Paul Varghese. Mor Clemis was taken to a resort in Thodupuzha and the screenplay of the drama was narrated to him. Then a media meet was arranged where Mor Clemis blurted out all the lies which was fed to him by Manoj Kokaat & Paul Varghese.

 

Manoj Kokaat has been in the forefront of tarnishing the name of the Church in public for quite some time now. The information is that he has been on the payroll of Methran Kakshis to spoil the name of the church and weaken it from within. Also, he is said to be very keen on getting some official posts in the Holy Church even though he don’t have any acceptance in the Church. This is the only reason why Shri. Thambu George Thukalan’s name is being dragged into this controversy. Shri. Thambu, who has been serving the church in an exemplary way for the last ten years is being unnecessarily targeted by this unholy group of detractors.

 

Due to the in-disciplinary activities of Manoj Kokaat, the Holy Synod has removed him from all the official posts that he held in the Holy Church and also in his Parish church. Also, his associate in this drama, Paul Varghese also has been removed from the posts that he held in the Holy Church and also the Holy Synod has recommended that His Holiness strip him of all the honors that have been accorded to him by His Holiness.

 

The Episcopal Synod which was held today has relieved Mor Clemis from all the responsibilities that he held as a Metropolitan and a committee has been appointed to look into the matter. The committee is chaired by Mor Gregorios Joseph and it includes Mor Ivanios Mathews, Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, V. Rev. Baby Chamakala Cor-Episcopa, V. Rev. Baby John Cor – Episcopa., Chevliar Prov N A Paulose & Chevliar Bibby Abraham. Further decisions in this regard will be taken once the committee submits its report.

 

Meanwhile, Mor Clemis has spoken to the Metropolitan council and has admitted that it was a mistake on his part which created the unnecessary controversy. He has owned up that he was misguided in this regard by the vested interests of a few people who had other aims in this whole issue. Presently, as per the advice of the Metropolitan council, Mor Clemis is in Gregorian Retreat Centre, Thuthooty and attending retreat and prayer sessions there. A statement from Mor Clemis in the regard is putting the whole controvery to rest is expected soon.
