The closing ceremony of Jacobite Syrian Vacation Bible School “JSVBS 2011” organized by St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church Sunday School was conducted at United Indian School Auditorium on Friday, June 24, 2011.
The Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John presided over the public meeting. The Keynote address was delivered by the Vicar of the Marthoma Church, Rev. Genil Abraham and the Felicitations were made by Parish Secretary Mr. Johnson Varghese and Chev. Prof. Bijou Varghese. Sunday School Head Master Mr. Saju Kuriakose welcomed the Guests and the gathering and Mrs. Sunila Kurian proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mrs. Bina Saji as the JSVBS leader coordinated the activities and Mrs. Beetha Johnson compered the meeting. Magician Manoj entertained the audience with a Magic show.
The JSVBS students displayed their skills and talents and what they learnt from JSVBS including songs and skits.
JSVBS 2011 was conducted at the National Evangelical Church of Kuwait (NECK) at Kuwait City from June 10 to June 21st. The theme selected this year for JSVBS is “Abide in Me” (St. John 15: 4).
The JSVBS offered a platform for children to grow with the knowledge of the Word of God. Children were provided the tools needed to strengthen their faith in God, and to develop a desire to obey God and grow in His path. All these activities were set in a delightful environment of fun and play.
The ten days’ learning program that included Bible studies, religious songs, arts, crafts, games and talent shows catered to children of all ages divided into various groups such as Beginners, Sub-juniors, Juniors and Seniors.
