St Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Bhopal member Shri. K.T.Chacko decorated as ‘Chevalier’ at St Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church at Kingsway Camp Delhi, on 01st July 2012 for his contribution for the beginning and activities of Jacobite congregation at Bhopal.
“The Chevalier” title is a Decoration given by Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church His Holiness Ignatius Zakka I Was to Laymen for their outstanding contributions to the church & society. The honour includes a citation and Mor Aphrem Medal.
Mr K.T Chacko honored by His Baetitude Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I, in the presence of Delhi Diocese Metropolitan His Eminence Isaac Mor Osthathios and Assistant Metropolitan of Delhi Diocese His Grace Zakharias Mor Polycarpos.
Mr Chacko was born 25th Dec 1942 at Tiruvalla, Kerala. Son of late Mrs & Mr Chacko Thomas and his home parish is St.George Jacobite cathedral-Kavumbhagom-Thiruvalla. He joined BHEL in the year 1962 & took VRS in the year 1999.
He is one of the founder leader who started the Bhopal church in the year 1975. Since beginning he has been an active member & held several positions including Trustee,, Secretary & presently Vice President of the church. He also served as an altar boy since the beginning. His family includes wife Smt.Aleyamma Chacko and three children-daughters Mini Jini and son Ani.
