As the Administrator of the Syro-Malabar Church and of the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly, with deep sorrow, I would like to inform Your Grace that Cardinal Varkey VITHAYATHIL, the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, was called to Eternal rest, on 1st April, 2011, at 14.00 (Indian time).

 

His funeral will take place on Sunday, 10 April, 2011 at 14.30 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, Ernakulam, Kochi, Kerala, India.

 

In the name of the Synod of the Syro-Malabar Church, I would like to invite you to the funeral of our Cardinal.
