His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II consecrated Mor Matta and Mor Behnam Church in Fleminsberg – Stockholm, Sweden on 20 Sept 2015.
Their Eminences Mor Dioscoros Benjamin Atas, Patriarchal Vicar in Sweden, Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, Patriarchal Assistant, and Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Archbishop of Mosul and Environs also participated in the consecration of the new church.
In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the role of the lay people in building the church. He said that the true church is the congregation of believers who live the Christian teachings and gather together to pray.
The consecration of the church was also attended by politicians and representatives of other churches in Sweden.
