His Holiness decorated Mr John Samuel Kanjirakkattuthekkathil, Chennithala with the title of Commander on 19th February 2011 at Saint Ephrem Monastery, Damascus. He belongs to St. George Horeb Jacobite Syrian Church, Chennithala and a member of Dubai Cathedral for thirty years.

He was the treasurer, vice president and signatory of the Dubai Cathedral for  many years. He was a key member in the allotment of the land for Mor Ignatius Cathedral Dubai. He was an active member in the Finance and Technical Committee of the church during the construction of the Cathedral. He is the one responsible for obtaining the permission from the municipality for an extension of the church and the construction.

The General Body of the Cathedral unanimously proposed his name for a title from the Holy Throne and recommended by Mor Militious Youhannon the Patriarchal Vicar.
