The Dalit Women Resource Centre, part of the centenary project of the Student Christian Movement of India was dedicated to the glory of God by the new General Secretary of the National Council of Churches in India, the Rev. Dr. Roger Gaikwad.
“Celebrate this year Christmas with Christ in our hearts”. H.G. Issac Mor Osthatheos, Diocesan Metropolitan Mylapore Diocese was delivering the Christmas Message to the 23 rd Ecumenical Christmas Carol Service 2010 of Madras Ecumenical Christian Fellowship (MECF) here in Chennai.
The Joint International Commission for Dialogue between the Syrian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church was held on Dec 7th at Manganam Spirituality Centre. Topics of common interest were discussed and agreements were reached upon. The following decisions were made:
HG Mor Osthatheos Isaac, Metropolitan of Mylapore & Delhi Dioceses visited Dr. Jacob mor Barnabas Metropolitan, the Apostolic Visitator – Malankara Catholic Church at Ivanios Bhavan Bishops House, Neb Sarai, Delhi on Dec 6th. Both Bishops discussed on various issues
“Metran Kakshi” (Self proclaimed Indian Orthodox people) violated Court order at Kurinji St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s JSOC….. RDO filed case against “Metran Kakshi” for violating the court orders……….
The Metran Kakshis have shown their ugly face again and proved once again that they can go to any extent to create problems in the Church. Metran Kakshis, who depend on Courts for anything and everything consider themselves above the court orders and law.
H.B the Catholicose Baselius Thomas Ist was the chief celebrant and HG Mor Thodocius Mathews, HG Mor Aprem Mathews were assisted in the ceremony.
Recognizing the prominence and activities, H.H. Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas with his blessed Apostolic Bull, St. George Universal SOC have been elevated to a Reesh Church (Valiyapalli). On 3rd December the declaration of 37 year old parish to a Reesh Church is being celebrated with all pomp and glory during a tri mass with Catholicos His Beatitude Baselios Thomas I as the chief celebrant and assisted by Diocesan metropolitan and patriarchal vicar H.E. Mor Theodosius Mathews and H.E. Mor Mathews Aphrem. A grand public meeting will be held on the same day evening with well known dignitaries and religious leaders with Reesh Church members celebrating the occasion.
