APRIL 2011    

Cheppadu: The Very Rev. Mathews Ramban, Secretary (Malankara Affairs) to His Holiness the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East has been accorded a warm reception in his home parish, St. George Jacobite Syrian Church, Cheppadu, under Niranam diocese.

 

 

The newly built St. George Horeb Jacobite Syrian Church will be consecrated on 9th and 10th May 2011 by His Beatitude Aboon Baselius Thomas I. The Building work has reached its final stage and is nearing completion. Mor Coorilos Geeverghese, the diocesan Metropolitan today visited the church and saw the porgress of the work. The members of the youth association of the church are actively involved in volunteeer work.

 

This year the Passion Week Services and Convention at St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Soonoro Church – Sharjah, UAE will God willing be lead by our Diocesan Metropolitan H.G. Mathews Mor Aphrem Thirumeni and assisting him the Vicar of our Church, Rev. Fr. Joshi Mathew and Rev. Fr. Bobby Varghese – Vicar, Mor Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral – Dubai, UAE as a guest speaker on the second day of the Convention.

Bishop Mor Eusebios arrived in Kuwait to lead this year’s Holy Week Services at Kuwait St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church.  His Grace was received at the Kuwait International Airport by the Parish Vicar Rev. Father Sajan John and a number of faithful from the church.

Bangkok: Mor Coorilos Geevarghese attended the 4th meeting of the Asia Conference of Theology Students which was held at the Bangkok Christian Guest House, Bangkok, Thailand from 3-7 April 2011.
