KUWAIT CITY: The funeral service of late Mr. Babu Paul Maracheril has completed after the viewing session. Rev. Fr. Mathew Poozhikollel, the Vicar of St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Church led the service, assisted by: Rev. Fr. Issac – St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr. C. Kurian,  St. Peter’s Knanaya Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr. Jose Mathew – St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr. George C Varghese – St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr. Abraham P George – Ahmadi Indian Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese – Marthoma Church, Kuwait, Rev. Fr. Binju Varghese, St. Peter’s CSI Church. The Members, Sunday School students and teachers of St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Church bid a tearful farewell to their beloved Sunday School Headmaster. Scores of peoples from different Christian denominations, and several Malayalee and Indian association members joined the prayer and paid their homage.

  മുടക്കുഴ മാര്‍ ഗ്രിഗോറിയോസ് യാക്കോബായ സുറിയാനി ചാപ്പലിന്റെ മില്ലുംപടിയിലുള്ള കുരിശുംതൊട്ടി കൂദാശ 19ന് വൈകീട്ട് 6.30ന് നടക്കും. ഡോ. ബസേലിയോസ് തോമസ് പ്രഥമന്‍ ബാവ മുഖ്യകാര്‍മികത്വം വഹിക്കും.

H.B Catholicose Dr. Baselios Thomas I lead the Holy Penta Mass at the Cathedral. Metropolitans Their Graces Dr. Mor Severios Abraham, Dr. Mor Ivanios Mathews, Dr. Mor Theophilose Kuriakose, Mor Athanasius Elias, Mor Aphrem Mathews, Mor Eusebios Kuriakose, Dr. Mor Clemis Kuriakose & Mor Philaxinos Zacharias assisted. Lots of priests and thousands of faithful attended the function.

Edinburgh: The Meeting of the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism (CWME) of the World Council of Churches concluded today here in Edinburgh. The meeting decided to hold a Mission Conference in 2012 prior to the Assembly of WCC to be held in Busan, Korea in 2013. The Commission will also commemorate the 50th anniversary of the integration of the WCC with the International Missionary Council (IMC) which took place in 1963 in New Delhi. This event will be held in Ghana in March, 2011. The meeting of the Commission was also attended by Dr. Walter Altmann, the moderator of the Central Committee of the WCC and guests from the Church of Scotland. The meeting was also an opportunity to bid farewell to Dr. Jacques Matthey who is due to retire from the staff of WCC. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese as moderator of the Commission chaired the meeting.

Former President of India His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam visited Kothamangalam Mor Athanasious College with a message to the youth. Thousands of people gathered together at Baselious Poulose 2nd Indoor Stadium to hear the message from Abdul Kalam. U.G.C former Secretary R.K Chaukan Presided over the function. H.
