The Holy relics of Late Lamented Metropolitan Msabrono Nasiho Mor Coorilos Kuriakose was installed at Kavumbhaghom St. George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral, by the hands of Metropolitans Dr. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese of Niranam Diocese & Mor Barnabas Geevarghese of Spiritual Organizations. Mor Coorilos Kuriakose was the former metropolitan of Southern Dioceses of Jacobite Syrian Church and was instrumental in the development of these dioceses. Mor Coorilos Kuriakose passed away in the year 1995 and was entombed at MMD Dayaro, Adoor.

The Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North America celebrated Patriarchal Day on February 18, 2012. Patriarchal Day is celebrated to commemorate the establishment of the patriarchal throne at Antioch in AD 37 by St. Peter, the leader of the apostles. As we all know, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the reigning Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, is the 122nd successor to the throne of St. Peter’s.

Malankara Archdiocese celebrated this special day at the St. Mary’s Syrian Orthodox Church in West Nyack, New York under the spiritual leadership of Archbishop and Patriarchal Vicar, His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho. The celebrations consisted of Holy Qurbana, prayer in memory of Late Lamented Eminences Mor Gregorious Geevarghese of Perumpillil and Mor Elias Mor Yulios, festive procession, and concluded with a public meeting.

An Official Seminar for Sunday School Headmasters, District Inspectors, District Secretaries & District Atmadeepam Organisers  will be scheduled to be held on Sunday 4th March, 2012 at St.Stephens HSS, Valakom from 1.30 p.m. onwards.     Sri.Baby Mathara(MJSSA Gen.Secretary) will inaugurate the Seminar.  V.Rev.C.K.Saju Cor-Episcopa(MJSSA Vice President) will give the Valedictory message.  Sri.P.I.Kuriakose(Diocese Director), Sri.M.V.Yacob(Diocese Secretary), Chev.K.V.Poulose, Sri.M.J.Markose  and others will sopke on the occasion. Tiruvalla: Noted writer and social activist Sara Joseph said that any development that destroys the earth and the poor must been seen as unethical. Sara Joseph made this statement while releasing the new book, “Samantharalokangal”, authored by  Mor Coorilos Geevarghese Metropolitan of Niranamdiocese. 

It was a night of prayers, praise, songs and blessings for the seminary. Seminary recognized the milestones of H.G. Dr. Kuriakose Mor Theophilose, Resident Metropolitan of the seminary,  on his birthday and lauded his efforts for the Seminary and church. Seminary family greeted H.G. all the best and success in all his endeavors and prayers for his continued good health and wisdom.
