The closing ceremony of Jacobite Syrian Vacation Bible School “JSVBS 2011” organized by St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church Sunday School was conducted at United Indian School Auditorium on Friday, June 24, 2011. The Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John presided over the public meeting.
Dn. Alexander Abraham, secretary of Mor Coorilos Geevarghese has been ordained as Kasseesso by Mor Ccorilos Geevarghese, Metropolitan of Niranam diocese.
H.G Mor Osthathiose Issac laid the foundation stone for new Church under Mylapore diocese at Anna Nagar. Hundreds of faithful and priest of the diocese were present during the function. Rev. Fr. Aby Alias Puthenveettil and the church managing committee made all the arrangements for the function.
Dr. Geevarghese Mor Coorilos presented the theme address on “Search for a New Ecclesia”, organized by the Christian Institute for the Study of Religion and Society (CISRS).
Geevarghese Mor Coorilos, Metropolitan of Niranam diocese has been re-elected as Chairperson of SCMI for one more term. The unanimous decision to this effect was taken at the General Committee meeting of the SCMI, held in Dimapur, Nagaland from 1- 4 June, 2011.
Kulanada St. Peters Chapel and the allied properties of the Manthalir St. Thomas JSO Church (Thumpamon Diocese) which was under dispute for the last 9 years was handed over to the real owners by the order of Hon. District Court Patahanamthitta.

The first Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) Holy Quorbana in Malayalam was held at Moeder Gods Syriac Orthodox Kerk in Amsterdam. Rev. Fr. Prince Manathoor was the chief celebrant accompanied by Rev. Ramban Saliba Antonios and decons of the church. Many faithful from several Christian communities all over The Netherlands attended the Holy Mass which was followed by tea and snacks at the church Parish hall.
