The 1st Anniversary of the elevation of St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church (Valiyapally) as Reesh Church (Major Church) has been celebrated along with Holy Qurbana on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the National Evangelical Church of Kuwait (NECK), Kuwait City. Former Patriarchal Vicar for Kuwait, and the Metropolitan of the Kollam Diocese, H.G. Mathews Mor Theodocius was the Chief Celebrant. Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John also spoke on this occasion.

The meeting of the Commission on World Mission and Evangrlism of the World Council of Churches concluded with a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the integration between the International Missionary Council (IMC) and the World Council of Churches which took place in New Delhi in 1961.

A new church of Mylapore Diocese of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church was inaugurated on Sunday, 27th November 2011 by Mor Osthatheos Isaac, Metropolitan of the Mylapore Diocese. Thirumeni also offered the Holy Qurbana and blessed the faithful prior to the inauguration.
