The World Council of Churches organised a Conference on The Theology of Diakonia for the 21st Century at Pegasus Reef Hotel in Colombo from 2-5 June 2012. About fifty theologians, activists and church leaders participated in the Conference which was jointly organised by the WCC programs on Diakonia and Solidarity, Just and Inclusive Communities and Mission and Evangelism. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Metropolitan of Niraanam diocese and Moderator of WCC Commission on World Mission and Evangelism (CWME) moderated the sessions on the Final Day of the Conference. The National Council of Churches in Sri Lanka hosted the Conference.
