Patriarch His Holiness Ignatius Aphrem IInd on the meeting with the Indian Orthodox Catholicose.

During the meeting on May 4th 2015 at the Patriarchal Cathedral in New Jersey USA His Holiness explained His Holiness’ meeting with the Catholicose of the Indian Orthodox Church, in Armenia during the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide.According to His Holiness the meeting was very friendly and cordial. During the meeting His Holiness informed him about the committee formed at the regional synod in India for reconciliation. The Catholicose promised that they will also constitute a similar Committee after the meeting of their Synod. His Holiness has communicated this to Our Catholicose through Apostolic Bull No. EI 40/15 dated on 26..April 2015, which concludes by assuring that,” We will not take any steps without the knowledge and consent of Your Beatitude and the regional Synod in India regarding the peace process”. During the meeting, His Holiness reiterated that we are focusing on a peaceful coexistence and not a unification. H.H. expressed his desire that the committees will meet soon to initiate the peace process. H.E. Mor Theethose Yeldho, H.E. Themotheos Matta Al Khoury, Very. Rev.Dr. Adai Jacob Cor episcopa were also present along with H.E. Dr. Kuriakose Theophilose Metropolitan, chairman of the Media Cell, at the meeting with His Holiness, the Patriarch.
