ALUVA: Metrapolitian consecration centenary of St. Paulose Mor Athanasious concluded with an amazing function held at Aluva municipal Town Hall today. More than 20 Thousand faithful thronged into Aluva & the town Hall found it difficult to accomodate the crowd out there. H.B Catholicose Dr. BAselious Thomas 1st presided over the meeting. Hon. NRI Minister Vayalar Ravi inagurated the meeting. In his speech honerable minister praised Holy Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church for her care & helping hands for the poor and needy. H.G Joseph Mor Gregorious (Metrapolitian of Kochi Diocese & President of Holy Synod in India) delivered the welcome note. H.G Mathews Mor Ivanious (Metrapolitian of Kandanad Diocese) read the Holy Apostolic Bull from HH Ignatious Zakka Iwas 1st, Patriarch of Universal Syriac Orthodox Church. H.G Mathews Mor Thevodosious (Metrapolitian of Kollam Diocese) read the faith proclamation. H.G Kuriakose Mor Theophilose (Metrapolitian of central Europe & Resident metrapolitian of MSOT seminary) introduced the St. Athanasious award winners for the audience. H.G Geevarghese Mor Coorilose (Metrapolitian of Niranam & Patriarchal Vicar of UK diocese) delivered the speech introducing the charitable and social welfare initiatives started by Holy Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. H.B Baselious Thomas 1st inagurated the “St. Athanasious Vision foundation” by handing over promisory note for donating H.B’s eyes after the death to Padmashri Chevliar Dr. Tony Fernadez. Padma Bhushan Dr. P K Warrier, Padma Shri Chevalier Dr. Tony Fernandez & Padma Shri Dr. Pucadiyil Ittoop John were honoured with St. Athanasius Award on this special occasion. kerala football coach M M Jacob also was hounered at this occasion. First house build as part of distributing 100 houses for the needy was held during the program. Tree saplings were distributed as part of planting 1 lakh trees this year. State ministers, MLAs, MPs & other respectable dignitaries from all walks of life participated and delivered the felicitation speeches. Message from Chief Minister of Kerala was read out in the function by Saju Paul MLA.
