A warm sent off was given to the former Patriarchal Vicar for Kuwait H.G. Mathews Mor Theodocius by the parishioners of St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church, Kuwait, in a function organized on Saturday, December 25th at the National Evangelical Church, Kuwait. Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John, Secretary Mr. Johnson Varghese, Trustee Mr. Jacob John spoke on this occasion. A memento was presented to Mor Theodocius by the Parish Secretary and Trustee on behalf of the parishioners. In his return speech, His Grace praised the various activities undertken by the Parish and its spiritual organizations.
H.G. Mathews Mor Theodocius shepherded the Syrian Orthodox Churches in Kuwait for 3 years from 2009 – 2011 as Patriarchal Vicar of the Patriarch of Antioch, His Holiness Ignatius Zakka I. During his tenure, St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church achieved tremendous growth in all respects. The Parish started two service centers in Fahaheel and Abbassiya in addition to the main service at the National Evangelical Church at Kuwait City. The Parish conducts Holy Qurbana on 4 days per week – on Friday morning at NECK Church, Monday evening at NECK Hall of Faith, Saturday at Manguf New Auditorium (Fahaheel) and on Wednesday at St. Peter’s Marthoma Church Hall, Abbassiya.
