Sharjah St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Soonoro Patriarchal Cathedral celebrated Santhi Doodh- Ecumenical Carol Night on Friday 21st December 2012 conducted by St. Mary's Youth Association. Fr. Biju George (Assist. Vicar, St. Michal Catholic Church, Sharjah) delivered the Christmas Message and Ms. Sindhu from 96.7 FM Radio is delivered the Felicitation. There are Seven Choir Group presented the Carol Songs.

His Grace Mathews Mor Aphrem Patriarchal Vicar of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in the UK paid a visit to the incumbent Archbishop of Canterbury, Bishop Justin Welby, to present his credentials. His Grace Mor Aphrem Mathews represents the Universal Syrian orthodox Church. In the UK there are more than 700 families in 24 congregations across the UK. Mathews Mor Aphrem is in charge of the Angamally Diocese of the Jacobite Syrian Church and a professor at the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Seminary and Chairman of the Mar Athanasious Association in Kothamangalam, Kerala, India which runs Higher Educational Institutions including engineering colleges. Commenting on the visit Bishop Justin conveyed his pleasure at meeting His Grace Mathews Mor Aphrem and was looking forward to working closer together. HG said that he was delighted with his visit with Bishop Justin and was very much looking forward to working with the Church of England. Topics discussed included the ancient tradition of the Syrian Orthodox Church in India, the plight of the Syrian Christians in the Middle East and future joint working. The meeting was attended by Fr Eldhose Vattaparambil, Mr Sajan George (Council member of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church in the UK), Dr Raju George, Mr BIkku Kuruvilla, Mr Eldhos Paul, Mr Shaan Samuel and Mr Eldhos Mathaikudy.Dr Raju George who organised the meeting said that this was a wonderful and unique opportunity for the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church to foster closer relationships with the Church of England. The meeting ending with a joint prayer by both Bishop Justin & Metropolitan.

A Consultation on Dalit Theology in the 21st Century was organized in New Delhi from 14th to 16th December 2012. The Consultation which brought together some 20 Dalit theologians, church leaders and theologians from other traditions was organized by the Just and Inclusive Communities program of the World Council of Churches. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Metropolitan of Niranam diocese participated in the Consultation. Dr. Deenabandhu Manchala, Dr. Sathianathan Clarke and Rev. Philip Peacock were the chief organizers.

St. Mary's Convent School, Ludhiana, Punjab conducted the Christmas Celebration on 11th of December 2012. His Grace Issac Mor Osthatheos, Metropolitan of Delhi Diocese was the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr. Eldho Mathews presided the meeting and the students of the school performed various cultural programs. St. Mary's Convent School is providing education to the weaker section in the society, particularly the children from villages near the school. The spiritual Organizations under Delhi Diocese are extending their hands for helping the financially weaker students studying in this school. Now 165 students are studying in this institution.
Fr. Eldho Mathews, The Vicar of St. Mary's Church Ludhiana and the principal of St. Mary's Convent school was given farewell in the meeting. He was transferred to St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Church, Coimbatore. During his period, his sincere and committed services to the Church and the School enabled the expansion and development in all its aspects.

Holy Syriac Orthodox Church delegation representing His Holiness the Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas and the Holy Synod and all the children of the Holy Syriac Orthodox Church offers prayers for the departed Greek Orthodox Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim.
Greek Orthodox Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim passed away Wednesday morning at a Beirut hospital after suffering a stroke a day earlier. Hazim's funeral will be held Sunday at 12 p.m. at St. Nicolas Church while an acting patriarch will be nominated Thursday.
Lebanese leaders described Hazim's passing as a loss for Lebanon and the region and praised his role as a religious leader who believed in the principle of coexistence. Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced that the day of Hazim's funeral would be a national day for mourning and praised the late patriarch for the role he played in the region. Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said the passing of Hazim represented the loss of a national and spiritual pillar of Lebanon.

The Bahrain St. Peter's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church officially inaugurated its 'Members Welfare Scheme-2012', a free insurance scheme for all members, in a glittering members get-together and gala dinner night held at Indian School Auditorium. Mr. Gaurav Gandhi, the Second Secretary at the Embassy of India, inaugurated the scheme by lighting the lamp and the Vice President Mr. K.M. Kurian received the nomination form from the Vicar Fr. Benny Abraham. Indian School Chairman Mr. Abraham John and St. Mary's Cathedral Vicar Fr. Jacob Koshy rendered felicitation messages. During the meeting, prizes were distributed to the winners of this year's 'Adults Competitions' and 'Charity Awareness Drawing and Colouring' competitions. The individual Champion Mrs. Molly Baby, who secured highest points in the Adults Competitions, was crowned as the 'Knight of St. Peter-2012'. Various cultural programmes were performed by the Sunday School children and Area Unit members. The Church Secretary Chev. Thomas Abraham welcomed the guests and the Treasurer &General Coordinator of the programme Mr. George Thomas Proposed the vote of thanks.
